About Us

What’s our story?

McBean Press is based in Cornwall. We’re a husband and wife team who believe that little things can make a big difference. We have five little things that have made a big difference to our life, our kids, and we want to build a business that they can be proud of.

What’s Our Process?

All our designs start life as a drawing in Matt’s sketchbook. He then works them up into a complete design ready for printing.

Next, it’s on to the print room, where we prepare the screens and expose them with each part of the design.

Now we’re ready to print, and this is the important part. We only print our designs on to 100% organic cotton t-shirts.  They are ethically produced and licensed under the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and the Soil Association. Our manufacturers are also members of the Fair Wear Foundation and work with the Carbon Trust to minimize their carbon footprint.

…But what about the inks?

Well, we only use water-based, pthalate free inks. These are also approved by GOTS and the Soil Association. They are kinder to the planet and kinder to your skin. They sink into the fibres rather than sitting on the top, so that designs are soft to touch and won’t crack or peel.

We hand print t-shirts in small batches. This reduces waste and ensures your t-shirt is in tip-top condition and printed to perfection.

We love what we do. We hope you do too 🙂
